This article covers how to edit a unit or property in the Inspections app.

 

Edit a Unit or Property on iOS

  • From your list of units tap on the unit you need to edit and enter the unit detail screen.

  • From the unit detail screen, if you're on an iPhone tap the three-dot icon in the bottom right. If you're on an iPad tap the three-dot icon at the top-right.

  • Then, choose Edit Unit

  • In the next screen, add or edit the address of the unit.

  • Once you've finished making your changes, tap the checkmark icon in the top right to save changes and go back to the unit detail screen 

Edit a Unit or Property on Android

  • From your entire list of units tap on the unit you need to edit.

  • When you're in the unit detail screen with the address at the top and inspections listed below, tap the the pencil icon with the word Edit at the top-right. 

  • This will open a window to allow you edit the address and make notes for the unit.

  • When you're finished editing the address or notes for the unit tap Save to close the window and return to the unit detail screen.

 

Adding an Asset Photo to your Unit or Property on iOS

  • Please note, this feature is only available in app for iOS devices

  • Follow the steps above to edit a unit. 

  • Below the address of your unit is a white square with the word Photo next to it.

  • Tapping the white square will open your camera and allow you to take a new photo of the unit.

    • Or you can add an existing photo from your Photo Library by tapping the icon at the lower left of the camera.

  • Once you’ve taken, or selected your photo:

    • On your iPhone tap the white cross at the lower right corner to close the camera.

    • On your iPad tap anywhere outside the camera window to close the camera.

  • You’ll then be back in the unit editing screen where you can change the address, add contacts or make notes.

  • Tap the checkmark at the top right of the screen when you've finished editing your unit.

 

Adding Contacts to a Unit or Property on iOS

  • To add the details of your tenant or a landlord to a unit, follow the steps above to edit a unit.

  • Near the bottom of the screen look for the word Contacts and a symbol.

  • Tap the word Contacts and in the new screen, fill in all of the details of your tenant, landlord or any other person you would like associated with your unit.

  • Please note: only the contact's name and email address will appear on final reports.

  • Tap the checkmark up the top right when you've finished adding your contact's details.

  • You’ll then be shown the list of all contacts for that unit where you can tap the + icon to add another or tap in the top left to head back to the unit editing screen where you can change the unit's address, add contacts or make notes.

  • Tap the checkmark at the top right of the screen when you've finished editing your unit.

Adding Notes to a Unit or Property on iOS

  • Notes don't end up on final reports, the only place they live is in the app.

  • They are a useful feature for adding details about access to a unit or details about pets or other relevant information.

  • To add notes to a unit, follow the steps above to edit a unit.

  • At the bottom of the edit unit screen is a text field next to the word Notes.

  • Tap into the text field and add as many notes and details as you need for the unit.

  • Simply tap the checkmark at the top right of the screen when you've finished adding your notes to complete the editing your unit.
