Overview

Bulk Edit for Unit Walks lets you correct inspection data across every unit on a floorplan in a single pass. Instead of opening each inspection to fix the same wrong selection, you edit a spreadsheet that already contains your current values, review what will change, and apply it to all units at once. It is built for Due Diligence Coordinators cleaning up repeated data-entry errors after a walk.

Getting Started

Before you begin. Bulk Edit for Unit Walks is an Early Access release, so you turn it on yourself. Open Admin Center, go to Release Updates, and turn on Bulk Edit Unit Walk Data.

To find it:

  1. Open the property in HappyCo Manage.
  2. Click Actions.
  3. Select Bulk Edit Unit Walk Data.

To close without changing anything. You can leave at any step before you apply. Closing the window discards your edits and changes nothing.

To turn it off. Go back to Release Updates in Admin Center and switch Bulk Edit for Unit Walks off. Your unit walk data is not affected — turning it off only removes the option from the Actions menu.

Choosing What to Edit

  1. Select the inspection template you want to edit.
  2. Select the floorplan. Each option shows how many units it covers.

If the property has only one floorplan for that template, this step is skipped automatically.

Every unit in the cohort shares the same section layout, which is what makes a single spreadsheet possible. To edit a different floorplan, run the bulk edit again and choose that one.

Editing in the Spreadsheet

The grid opens with one row per unit and your current values already filled in.

  • Columns come from that floorplan's own inspection sections. Duplicated sections appear as separate columns, so Bedroom 1 and Bedroom 2 stay distinct.
  • Each column offers the same options your inspector saw in the field.
  • Unit, building, floorplan, and status columns are read-only. They are there so you know which row is which.

Change a value the same way you would in any spreadsheet. Edit as many rows and columns as you need before moving on.

Reviewing Your Changes

When you submit the grid, you see a summary of what is about to happen: each change and the number of units it affects.

  • Read the unit counts. They are the fastest way to catch an edit you made in the wrong column.
  • Click to apply when the summary looks right.
  • Close the review if it does not. Nothing has changed yet.

If you submit without editing anything, a message tells you there is nothing to apply.

Applying and Checking Results

Changes are applied unit by unit. If one unit fails, the rest continue.

When the run finishes, a results table shows each unit, its building, and whether it updated. If any units failed, you can retry only those.

Your completed unit walks stay complete. The values update in place and the completion time refreshes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which unit walks can I bulk edit?

Completed unit walks only. Walks that are still Scheduled or In Progress are not included, and a banner in the workflow reminds you.

Will this reopen my completed walks?

No. Completed walks stay complete. The data updates and the completion time refreshes.

Can I edit more than one floorplan at a time?

Not in a single pass. Run the bulk edit again and select the next floorplan.

Can I undo a bulk edit?

No. There is no rollback, so use the review summary to confirm your changes before applying them.

Can I turn the feature off again?

Yes. Bulk Edit for Unit Walks is an Early Access release. Turn it on or off any time from Release Updates in Admin Center.

What if some units do not update?

The run continues past a failure. The results table shows which units did not update, and you can retry just those.

Can I do this in the Due Diligence Inspections mobile app?

Not yet. Bulk Edit for Unit Walks is in HappyCo Manage on the web. In the mobile app, edit inspections individually.

Why do I not see the option in my Actions menu?

Bulk Edit for Unit Walks is most likely still turned off for your account. Open Admin Center, go to Release Updates, and turn it on.
