This article covers how to add and delete photos to a HappyCo Inspection on iOS and Android devices.

16 Photos for Every Item

  • Every item in your sections can have up to 16 photos. If you need more, you can always add extra items to your sections

Taking Photos in App on iOS

  • Take photos by tapping on the camera icon on the right-hand side of the inspection screen

  • This will open a camera window and allow you to take up to 16 photos

  • Tap the white button to take photos

    • You should hear the camera's shutter click

  • Close the camera on iPhone by tapping the white cross at the lower right

  • On an iPad tap anywhere outside the camera window

  • Closing the camera will take you back to the inspection screen, where the camera icon will be greyed out and have a blue badge with the number of photos for that item

Taking Photos on Android

  • To add photos to the inspection on Android tap the camera icon on the right of the inspection screen

  • This opens your item's photos screen

  • Tap the green, floating action button down the bottom right corner and select Camera

  • Tap the white, circular button in the middle of the bottom edge to take your photos

  • On your Android phone tap the Android back button to close the camera window and return to the item's photos screen

  • On an Android tablet either tap anywhere outside the camera window, or tap the Android back button to return to the item's photos screen

  • From here, tap the back arrow up the top left of the screen, in the title bar, to go back to your inspection

Adding photos from your Photo Library on iOS

  • If you have existing photos you want to add to the inspection, such as those from a digital camera, you can transfer the photos to your iOS device and then add them to the inspection report. To do this:

    1. Connect your digital camera to your iOS device and transfer the photos.
    2. Tap on the camera icon to open the camera window.
    3. Tap the landscape icon on the lower left corner of the camera window.
    4. Next, tap the Library button on the bottom left.
    5. Select the photo(s) you wish to add.
    6. Confirm by tapping the checkmark up the top right.

Adding photos from your Photo Library on Android

  • On the item's photo screen tap the green, floating action button then tap Gallery

  • Select the photos you would like to add to the item

  • When you've added all the photos you would like to add to the item, tap the back arrow up the top left

  • If you are unable to upload photos to your HappyCo Inspection report, first check the Sync tab on the device used for the inspection. Look under the Sending Data and Sending Photos tabs for any pending uploads indicated by a blue badge next to the Cloud icon. Leave the Sending Photos screen open while the uploads complete to prevent connection loss.

Deleting Photos from Items on iOS

  • If you're still in the camera window, tap on the photos icon down the lower left

  • If you are in an inspection and want to delete photos tap the greyed camera icon on the item

  • Either path will open the item's photos screen

  • Tap Select up the top left and choose the photos you wish to delete

  • Then tap the red, trash can down the lower right

  • Confirm you wish to delete the photos then tap the checkmark up the top right to return to either the camera window or the inspection

Deleting Photos from an Item on Android

  • If you're in the camera and want to delete photos, tap out of the camera window and onto the item's photos screen

  • If you're in an inspection and want to delete photos, tap on the grey camera icon

  • Through either path, on the item's photo screen, long tap on the photo(s) you wish to delete

  • The photo will dim and a white checkmark will appear over the photo

  • Then tap the Delete button up the top right

  • Exit the item's photos screen by tapping the back arrow at the top left

Deleting Photos from Inspections on the Web

  • If you are unable to delete photos from an inspection in the HappyCo app while using the Safari web browser, you can try deleting the photos from a computer instead. To delete photos from an inspection:

    1. Open the inspection on a computer.
    2. Click the camera icon.
    3. Select the photo you want to remove.
    4. Click 'Delete' at the bottom.

    Please note that deleting a photo is permanent, so ensure you want to remove it before proceeding.
