Overview

You can now add a Work Order to a Project from the HPMA mobile app in one of two ways: add a new Work Order directly into a Project, or add an existing Work Order to a Project. Every Work Order is placed into a specific Project Stage when added.

How to enable it

This feature is released via Release Updates. To turn it on for your account:

  1. In HappyCo Manage, go to Admin Centre > Release Updates.
  2. Search for the Add Task to Project release update 
  3. Switch it on.

Once enabled, the feature is available to your team on next HPMA sync.

How to disable it

Return to Admin Centre > Release Updates, find the Add Task to Project release update, and switch it off.

Adding a new Work Order to a Project

  1. Open the HPMA app and go to the Projects tab.
  2. Tap the Project you want to add a Work Order to.
  3. Tap the add icon.
  4. The Work Order defaults to a turn type.
  5. Select the Stage you want to add the Work Order to.
  6. Select a Category and add a Description as you normally would.
  7. Tap Create.

The new Work Order is created in the selected Project and Stage.

Adding an existing Work Order to a Project

  1. Open the HPMA app and go to the Work Orders list.
  2. Find and tap the Work Order you want to add to a Project.
  3. Open the work order
  4. Tap the (three-dot) icon in the top right.
  5. Tap Add to Project.
  6. A list of Projects appears — these are the Projects at the same location as the Work Order.
  7. Select the Project you want to add the Work Order to.
  8. Select the Stage of that Project you want to add the Work Order to.
  9. Tap Add.

The Work Order is now associated with the Project and placed in the selected Stage.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why don't I see any Projects in the list when I tap Add to Project?

The list only shows Projects at the same location as the Work Order. If there are no Projects at that location, the list will be empty — create a Project at that location from desktop first.

Can I create a new Project from mobile?

Not yet. If your account has no Projects, you'll need to create one on desktop in HappyCo Manage first. Creating Projects from mobile is on the roadmap as a separate piece of work.

What if the Project has no Stages?

You won't be able to add the Work Order until the Project has at least one Stage. Add Stages to the Project from desktop, then return to mobile.

Why has the FAB on the Projects list page disappeared?

It was removed in this release because it was ambiguous (it could read as "create a project" or "create a project task"). The new entry points on the Project Detail screen and on Work Orders replace it.

Does this work offline?

Yes. Your project list works offline using your last sync, and the add syncs back to HappyCo when you reconnect.
