Admin Center is the account management area of Manage where administrators create and manage users, access, permissions, roles, and integrations with external vendors and data centers. Use it to build custom roles, connect your Property Management System (PMS), and manage SCIM, Single Sign-On (SSO), billing, and more.

Key concepts
Admin Center covers three main areas.
- Custom Role Management: Admin and User Manager roles manage roles and their permissions a la carte, edit permissions for existing roles, and manage role names and descriptions.
- Integration Management: select a supported Property Management System (PMS) and enter the credentials needed to authorize the connection between the PMS and HappyCo.
- SCIM Provisioning: centralized user management through Okta, so administrators manage all HappyCo users from one platform.
Before you start
- Admin Center access: your HappyCo account needs Administrator privileges.
- SCIM provisioning: you need access to your organization's Okta Admin Panel.
Opening Admin Center in Manage
Log in to Manage
Log in to the Manage web interface as an Administrator.
Open Settings
Click the gear icon in the upper right corner to open the Settings page.
Select Admin Center
Select Admin Center from the left side pane menu.
Role changes apply on the next page refresh
Review and test the permissions assigned to each role to make sure they match the access you intend. Changes to roles take effect immediately on the user's next page refresh.
Creating a custom role in Admin Center
Open Roles
In Admin Center, click Roles from the left side pane menu.
Start a new role
Click Create new role in the upper right corner of the interface.
Pick a starting role
Choose a default role or an existing custom role to use as the basis for the new role.
Name the role
Enter a name for the new role.
Choose permissions
Select the specific permissions you want to grant from the list.
Save the role
Click Add Role in the bottom right.
Setting permissions a la carte
Each permission is a checkbox: turn on the checkboxes for the permissions the role should have. Start from the default role closest to what you need and adjust its checkboxes from there.
Duplicating an existing role
-
Go to Roles
Open the main Roles interface in Admin Center. -
Open the role's menu
Click the overflow menu (vertical three-dot icon) on the far right of the role you want to copy. -
Duplicate it
Select the duplicate option.
Custom roles stay in their own organization
Roles created with Custom Role Management belong to the organization or account where they were created. They cannot be shared or transferred to other organizations or accounts.
Configuring a new PMS integration in Admin Center
Open Integrations
In Admin Center, select Integrations from the left side pane menu.
Start a new integration
Click New Integration in the top right of the screen.
Pick your PMS
Select the PMS you want to connect.
Enter credentials
Enter the credential information specific to that PMS.
Validate the connection
Click Add Integration to validate the connection, or click Cancel to stop.
Tip
If any field holds invalid or incomplete information, a pop-up notification says the process was unsuccessful.
Updating an existing PMS integration
Open Integrations
Go to the Integrations section in Admin Center.
Select the integration
Click the existing integration you want to change.
Save new details
Add the new details and save the changes.
Tip
The updated configuration takes effect immediately.
Enabling SCIM provisioning in the Okta Admin Console
Open Okta
Go to your Okta Admin Console.
Select the HappyCo app
Go to Applications → Applications and select the HappyCo app instance you want to provision.
Turn on SCIM
On the General tab, in the provisioning section, check Enable SCIM provisioning and save.
Configure the API integration
Go to Provisioning and click Configure API Integration.
Enable API integration
Check Enable API Integration.
Enter HappyCo's SCIM settings
Enter the SCIM settings provided by HappyCo: SCIM connector base URL (SCIM endpoint), authorization method (commonly Bearer Token), and token or API key if required.
Test the credentials
Click Test API Credentials, confirm the test succeeds, then save.
Choose provisioning actions
Under Provisioning → To App, enable what you intend to use: Create Users, Update User Attributes, and optionally Deactivate Users.
Tip
Turn on Deactivate Users only if you want Okta deactivation to disable access in HappyCo.
Check attribute mappings
Go to Provisioning → To App → Attribute Mappings and make sure required fields map correctly (typically email or username, first name, last name, and any required unique identifier fields), then save.
Assign a test user
Go to Assignments and assign a test user or test group to the HappyCo app.
Validate end to end
Trigger provisioning by assigning, unassigning or updating a user attribute, then check in HappyCo that the user is created, updated or deactivated as expected.
Tip
If anything fails, check the provisioning errors on the app instance.
Troubleshooting PMS integration and data transfer failures
Problem: integration problems or data transfer failures between HappyCo and a PMS.
Cause: invalid credentials, incorrect configuration settings, or missing required fields that block synchronization.
- Find the specific point of failure in the data transfer.
- Check configuration settings in both platforms.
- Make sure required fields are not blocking data synchronization.
- Ask the software providers about possible configuration adjustments.
- If the problem continues, contact the HappyCo Support team.
