Overview

HappyCo integrates with Engrain to display open work orders on an interactive floor-plan map of your property. This gives your team a spatial view of maintenance activity — making it easy to spot units with open or urgent issues at a glance.

The map view is an alternative to the standard Tasks list. You can switch between the two at any time.

Requirements

  • You must be on web (map view is not available on mobile)
  • Your property must have an Engrain map available
  • The Engrain integration must be enabled for your property by your HappyCo administrator

Switching to Map View

  1. Go to the Tasks page
  2. Select one or more properties from the property selector
  3. If the property has an Engrain map, a location pin icon will appear in the top navigation bar of the Tasks table
  4. Click the pin icon to switch from the list view to the map view
  5. If you do select multiple properties, you can easily toggle between their maps (if available) by using the property selector, next to the floor selector

Note: If the pin icon is not visible, your selected property does not have an Engrain integration. See What to do if the map isn't available below. Because the system does support multi-property select, at least one of the properties you select has to have a valid Engrain map to toggle to Map view

Reading the Map

The map shows your property's floor plan with each unit colour-coded based on its open work orders:

Colour Meaning
Base colour No open work orders
Blue One or more open, non-urgent work orders
Yellow One or more open paused work orders
Red One or more urgent work orders

Navigating Between Floors

Use the floor selector on the map to move between floors of the property. Each floor displays the same colour-coded unit view.

Viewing Work Orders for a Unit

Click any unit on the map to open the work order drawer for that unit. The drawer shows all open work orders associated with that unit.

From the drawer, you can review work order details as you normally would from the list view.

What to Do if the Map Isn't Available

The pin icon is not visible The property you've selected does not have a valid Engrain integration. This could mean the property is not mapped in Engrain

Contact your administrator for assistance.

Limitations

  • Web only — map view is not available on the HappyCo mobile app
  • Work order filters - Maps don't currently consume the work order table filters, by default they will show all active work orders at a property when using the Map view
  • Single property only — you can only see one property map and one floor of that property at a time
  • Open work orders only — the map shows open work orders; closed or completed work orders are not displayed

Frequently Asked Questions

Why can't I see the map icon? The map icon only appears for properties that have a valid Engrain integration. If it's not visible, your selected property may not be mapped by Engrain.

Can I use this on my phone? Not currently. Map view is only available on the web version of HappyCo.

How does HappyCo know which units are mine in Engrain? HappyCo matches your property and unit data to Engrain using your PMS IDs (e.g., Yardi or Entrata) where available. If PMS IDs aren't available, HappyCo falls back to matching on address and unit name.
