Using the No Entry Workflow in the Due Diligence Mobile App

The Due Diligence (DD) mobile app includes a built-in No Entry workflow, making it easy for inspectors to mark units they cannot access without using workarounds or manual follow-up steps.

This ensures your reporting stays accurate and your progress dashboard updates automatically.

How the No Entry Workflow Works

When an inspector starts a unit inspection in the DD mobile app:

  1. The app will prompt them to confirm whether the unit is accessible.
  2. If the unit is not accessible, they can select No, Give Reason.
  3. The app will display a list of standard reasons, such as:
    • No Key
    • Refused Access
    • Large Pet
    • Other access-related reasons
  4. If an inspection has already been opened in a Draft state, inspectors can still mark an inspection as No Entry by tapping the "back" arrow button ⬅️ and following the steps above:

Once a reason is selected:

  • The unit’s status updates automatically on the DD Progress Dashboard and tables on the Property Dashboard
  • No manual updates are required in Manage
  • The inspection is handled correctly for reporting

What Happens to the Inspection?

When a unit is marked as No Entry:

  • The inspection is saved as:
    • Draft (if any edits were made), OR
    • Scheduled (if no edits were made)
  • The unit will not be included in reports as only Complete inspections are reported on
  • If you are using Pre-Filled Values, there is no need to clear or modify any data
  • If you are using Required Fields, there is no need to enter data to meet requirements

How to Generate a List of No Entry Units

Sometimes you may need a list of units that were inaccessible, for example to show management which unit keys were not available. This can be done in Manage from the DD Progress Dashboard by clicking View Status List and then Download. A list will be downloaded in an Excel sheet showing each unit inspection and the status, including No Entry, Reason, and any Notes.

Important: This is the best source of this information (as opposed to any tables on the Property Dashboard) because the DD Progress Dashboard is updated live as inspections are synced

Template Changes

Because the No Entry workflow is built into the app. A separate “Reason for No Entry” item is no longer required in your inspection template.

If the “Reason for No Entry” question still exists on your template, our team can help remove that redundant field. This helps keep templates clean and easier for inspectors to use.

Best Practices

  • Train inspectors to use No, Give Reason instead of starting and partially completing an inspection
  • Do not create workaround questions or manual notes for inaccessible units
  • Let the app handle status and reporting automatically
  • Review No Entry units in the DD Progress Dashboard as needed
