The Due Diligence Inspections (Happy DD) mobile app lets inspectors quickly apply a rating value (like Good, Repair, Replace, or N/A) to multiple inspection items at once. This significantly speeds up inspections and ensures consistent scoring across a unit or section — especially useful when most items in a room share the same condition.

What Are Rating Sets?
Rating Sets are the condition values you select when inspecting an item. Common Rating Sets include:
- Good / Repair / Replace / N/A (the standard condition set)
- Good / Repair / Replace
- Good / Fair / Poor
- Yes / No
Instead of tapping the same value on every item individually, you can apply one rating to many items at once using the Rate All Items feature described below.
How to Apply a Rating to Multiple Items
- Open a unit inspection in the Due Diligence Inspections (Happy DD) mobile app.
- Navigate to the section you're inspecting (for example, Kitchen or Bathroom).
- Tap and hold on a rating value (such as Good).
-
A pop-up will appear that says:
"Rate all items (where applicable) with the same rating and score value as 'Condition: Good.'"
- Choose one of the following options based on how widely you want the rating applied:
Rate All
- Applies the selected rating (for example, Good) to all applicable items in the entire inspection.
- Useful when most or all items in the unit share the same condition.
Only in {Section Name}
- Applies the selected rating only to items in the current section (for example, "Only in Kitchen").
- Useful when one area is consistent but other areas of the unit differ.
Important Notes
- The rating only applies to items that support that Rating Set. For example, bulk-applying a Good/Repair/Replace/N/A rating won't affect items configured with a Yes/No Rating Set — those items are skipped.
- Existing ratings will be overwritten for the affected items. If you've already rated some items in the section and then bulk-apply a different value, the earlier ratings will be replaced.
- Only the rating value is applied. Photos, comments, and defects are not automatically added — you'll still need to attach those individually to items that require them.
Best Practices
- Use Rate All when the unit is mostly in the same condition. For a lightly-worn unit where most items are Good, bulk-applying Good and then adjusting the exceptions is much faster than rating every item individually.
- Use bulk rating as an initial pass, then refine. Apply the most common rating first, then walk through and change the specific items that don't match.
- Always review sections after bulk rating to make sure the ratings are accurate — bulk apply is a shortcut, not a substitute for actually inspecting each item.
Troubleshooting
If the rating options aren't appearing, or you don't see the pop-up when holding down a rating value, check the following:
- You're using the latest version of the Due Diligence Inspections mobile app. Update from the App Store or Google Play if needed.
- You're tapping and holding on a rating value (like Good) — not the item name or another part of the row.
- The inspection item uses a Rating Set, not a dropdown. Bulk-apply only works for Rating Set items — if an item uses a dropdown response (e.g., a text-based selection), the tap-and-hold shortcut won't trigger.
If you've checked all of the above and the feature still isn't working, reach out to the Due Diligence team using the contact information in the Need Help? section below.
