The DD mobile app allows inspectors to quickly apply a rating value (such as Good, Repair, Replace, or N/A) to multiple inspection items at once. This helps speed up inspections and ensures consistent scoring across a unit or section.

What Are Rating Sets?

Rating sets are the condition values you select when inspecting an item, such as:

  • Good, Repair, Replace, N/A
  • Yes, No
  • Yes, No, N/A
  • Good, Fair, Poor

Instead of tapping the same value on every item individually, you can apply one rating to many items at the same time using the Rate All Items feature.

How to Apply a Rating to Multiple Items

  1. Open a unit inspection in the DD mobile app
  2. Navigate to the section you are inspecting (for example, Kitchen or Bathroom)
  3. Tap and hold on a rating value (such as Good)
  4. A pop-up will appear that says:

“Rate all items (where applicable) with the same rating and score value as ‘Condition: Good.’”

  5. Choose one of the following options:
    1. Rate All
      • Applies the selected rating (for example, Good) to all applicable items in the entire inspection
      • Useful when most or all items in the unit share the same condition
    2. Only in {Section Name}
      • Applies the selected rating only to items in the current section (for example, “Only in Kitchen”)
      • Useful when one area is consistent, but other areas differ

Important Notes

  • The rating will only apply to items that support that rating set (for example, items that use Good/Repair/Replace/N/A)
  • Existing ratings will be overwritten for the affected items
  • Photos, comments, and defects are not automatically added—only the rating value is applied
  • This feature helps reduce repetitive tapping and speeds up inspections significantly

Best Practices

  • Use Rate All when:
    • The unit is mostly in the same condition
    • You are performing an initial pass and refining exceptions afterward
  • Always review sections after bulk rating to ensure accuracy

Need Help?

If the rating options are not appearing or you don’t see the pop-up when holding down a rating value, make sure:

  • You are using the latest version of the DD mobile app
  • You are selecting a rating value (not the item name)
  • The inspection item uses a rating set, not a dropdown
