The Due Diligence (DD) mobile app allows Administrators to add (duplicate) or remove sections directly within a unit inspection. This is helpful when a unit layout does not match the original template (for example, an unexpected extra bedroom or bathroom). If a Section needs to be removed from all unit walk inspections, best practice is to edit the Template before the walk begins.
⚠️ Administrator permission is required to add/duplicate or remove sections.
Who Can Edit Sections?
To modify sections in a unit inspection template:
- You must be logged in as an Administrator
- If the inspection is already completed, it must first be unlocked
How to Remove a Section in the DD Mobile App
Follow these steps to delete a Section from a unit inspection:
- Open the DD mobile app
- Search for and open the inspection that needs to be edited
- Tap Unlock (if the inspection is marked complete)
- Tap Sections, in the lower left
- Tap Edit
- Tap the circle next to the section you want to remove
- Tap Remove

Once removed, the section will no longer appear in that inspection.
How to Add (Duplicate) a Section
If a unit has more rooms than expected (for example, an extra bedroom or bathroom), you can duplicate an existing section:
- Open the inspection in the DD mobile app
- Scroll to the bottom of the section you want to copy (for example, Bedroom or Bathroom)
- Tap Duplicate Section

This creates a new section with the same inspection items as the original.
When to Use Duplicate Section
Duplicating sections is most commonly used when:
- The bed/bath count in the system is incorrect
- A unit layout differs from the rent roll or setup
- The inspector needs to continue the inspection without delay
In these cases:
- The Administrator can duplicate the section to proceed with the inspection
- Another team member should contact HappyCo to provide the correct bed/bath count so the system can be updated on the backend if floorplans are incorrect
This ensures reporting remains accurate while allowing the walk team to stay productive in the field.
Important Notes & Best Practices
- Only Administrators can add or remove sections
- Note that removing a Section cannot be undone and any data associated with a deleted Section cannot be recovered
- Removing a Section deletes it from that inspection only
- Duplicating a Section copies all inspection items exactly
- Section changes apply at the inspection level, not the template
- If unit layouts differ across many units, contact HappyCo so we can update the template or unit setup correctly
