This article covers how to add attachments, comments, and signatures to Tasks in Happy Property: Maintenance.
Adding a comment to a Task
- To add a comment to a Task in Happy Property: Maintenance, first you will need to open a task from the task list and navigate to the ‘activity’ tab at the top of the open task.
- In the activity tab, you will notice a comment bar at the bottom of the screen. Simply tap on the comments bar to open a text field in which you can type your comment.
Comments on tasks will only be visible to internal team members on your property and will not be surfaced to residents. This is how your team may communicate with each other regarding particular tasks.
Adding an image to a Task
You can take photos or add images to a task to provide a visual representation of the work that is to be completed or the work that has been completed on a task.
- To take a photo on a task, navigate to the ‘activity’ tab at the top of the task details screen.
- Once on the screen, click on the paperclip icon at the bottom of the screen and select the ‘take a photo’ option. This will open the camera in which you can take pictures.
- Once you have taken your photo, exit the camera and you will see the image in the ‘activity’ tab.

- To add an image to your task from your phone's photo library, navigate to the ‘activity’ tab at the top of the task details screen.
- Once on the screen, click on the paperclip icon at the bottom of the screen and select the ‘add a photo’ option. This will open your phone's photo library.
- Select the photo which you would like to add to the task and then close the window. You will then see the image in the ‘activity’ tab.
Adding a file to a Task
Files may be added to tasks to provide additional information or context about a task. You can add a scanned document of a resident request written on paper as a pdf, for example.
- To add a file to your task from your phone's file library, navigate to the ‘activity’ tab at the top of the task details screen.
- Once on the screen, click on the paperclip icon at the bottom of the screen and select the ‘add a file’ option. This will open your phone's file library.
- Select the file which you would like to add to the task and then close the window. You will then see the file in the ‘activity’ tab.
Signatures on Tasks
Customers who require residents to sign tasks as confirmation of the work completed as satisfactory, or who require a signature for legal reasons, are able to capture resident signatures on work orders in Tasks. Users are able to:
- View signatures attached to a Task (in the mobile app and in Manage web application)
- View whether the Task has been signed, including:
- Signature date
- Who signed
- Image of signature attached to the Task (.png image file)
Multiple signatures can be added to a Task in the ‘Open’ state, with the ability to assign a name to each individual signature added to a Task.
Signatures on Tasks are optional; users can complete tasks without adding a signature.
*At this time, there are no changes to Insights and printable Tasks ‘reports’ are not supported.
