Start the Application Process
There are two ways to invite an applicant to apply directly to a unit:
- Navigate to leasing section on side nav. Select "Applications" and click on Start Application
- Navigate to the prospect table, select the contact that you’d like to have apply, click on their name and open the prospect card related to the property you’d like to invite them to apply to. Select the overflow (the three dots) and click on Start application
-
Add Lead Applicant
You can now search for and add a known contact to the application, or you can create a new contact to add to the application. At this point you can also define the applicant’s preferred method of communication, email, SMS or both. Note that an email invitation to apply will go out to the applicant, regardless of your communication preference setting.
💡 If you start an application from the contact card, this step will be completed automatically
-
Add a unit and an application package
You can now add an available unit based on the applicant’s preferences. Once the unit is added, select the application package that best suits the situation. Each unit should have at least one application package associated with it. The application package will define how many co-applicants and/or guarantors you can add to the application.
-
Add application details
At this stage you can define the lease start date, early move-in date (if applicable) and desired lease term. If they are available you can also add rentable items, mark any in person payments made and add any relevant deposits and/or fees the applicant has to pay, to the application.
💡 Available lease terms are associated to the unit and come from your integrated Property Management Software.
-
Save or Send Application
Once you’ve completed the invitation to lease form, you can either save the application as a Draft or you can Send the application Save application in progress or send out invitations to apply. Now your application is in the hands of your applicants and the stage of the application will be In progress and the status will be Sent.
