Your application template allows you to ask the questions you want to ask, collect the information you need to collect, and help you hone in on what your property team values most. What you configure here is what your applicants will experience.

⚠️You need to be an Admin user to manage application templates

1. Create an application template

  • Select Configuration>Application configuration
  • On this page you’ll find your application templates and your application packages (which are made up of templates)
  • By selecting Add you can add a new template, staring fresh!
  • OR if you only need to make minor tweaks, you can copy an application template by selecting the Copy icon, on the table.

2. Creating an application template

  • Once you’ve either created a new application template, or copied an existing one you will be working with a template draft
  • First define:
    • Who the application template is for:
      • Lead applicant
      • Co-applicant(s)
      • Guarantors
      • Verifiers (individuals who would provide a reference on an application)
    • Text for your terms and conditions, application overview, deposit information,
  • Once all required sections are completed, you can select Save, and then you can start crafting your applicant experience

3. Building an application experience

  • You start by working on the first step of your application. Consider each step a page in the application that an applicant is going to have to complete. Too many steps and an application can feel un-ending, too few and the page can grow pretty long making it hard to navigate!
  • Enter the title of your step and add an optional description
  • Select Add block to open up the Block library drawer. The block library represents all of the different types of information you can collect about your applicants
  • Re-order blocks by selecting them and simply dragging them up or down in the order you want them to appear in your application

4. Deciding what application data you want to collect

  • Select the Edit icon on an application block
  • From here you can enable, disable or mark fields as required
  • By expanding the row of a particular bit of information you’d like to collect, like “First name” you can change the field name in your application
  • Select Save

5. Preview your application

  • You can select Preview from the application template overview page. The preview will show you what your applicant will experience.

⚠️ Information like street address and rules like required fields are disabled/mocked up in the preview mode.

  • Once you’re satisfied with your application template you can select Publish to make it available to use in an Application package

Heads up!

  • If you copy a Lead applicant template intending to use it as a Co-applicant template type, make sure you replace the application block Lead applicant details with Co-applicant details in the application step builder.
